  • 2 egg whites

  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) chopped ginger

  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) El-Ma-Mia fish and seafood seasoning

  • 250 ml (1 cup) of panko breadcrumbs

  • 2 thinly sliced green onions

  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) of canola oil

  • 5 ml (1 tsp) chopped garlic

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).

  2. In the bowl of a food processor, combine the shrimp, egg whites, ginger, seafood seasoning, green onions, and, if desired, garlic. Blend until smooth.

  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Stir in half of the breadcrumbs. Shape into 16 balls, using about 30 ml (2 tbsp) of the mixture for each. Coat the balls with the remaining breadcrumbs.

  4. In an oven-safe skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Sear the meatballs for 2 to 3 minutes, then bake in the oven for 12 to 13 minutes.
