Ingredients
350 g (580 ml) of northern prawns
2 egg whites
15 ml (1 tbsp) chopped ginger
15 ml (1 tbsp) El-Ma-Mia fish and seafood seasoning
250 ml (1 cup) of panko breadcrumbs
2 thinly sliced green onions
30 ml (2 tbsp) of canola oil
5 ml (1 tsp) chopped garlic
Steps
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
In the bowl of a food processor, combine the shrimp, egg whites, ginger, seafood seasoning, green onions, and, if desired, garlic. Blend until smooth.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Stir in half of the breadcrumbs. Shape into 16 balls, using about 30 ml (2 tbsp) of the mixture for each. Coat the balls with the remaining breadcrumbs.
In an oven-safe skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Sear the meatballs for 2 to 3 minutes, then bake in the oven for 12 to 13 minutes.
